Raising the Banner: The Art of Geli Korzhev
The limited edition catalog for the Korzhev exhibition is a comprehensive synopsis of the artists' first solo exhibition beyond the borders of the former Soviet Union. The exhibition catalog features full color illustrations of the 63 individual works included in the exhibition and photos from the artist's personal files. The catalog includes three English-language essays by independent Russian art historians and critics that provide valuable context for the summary of Korzhev's artistic career that began in 1951, with his graduation from the famed Surikov Institute of Art in Moscow. The catalog includes explanatory descriptions of many of the individual paintings in the artist's own words.
