Before the Storm

Raymond and Susan Johnson founded The Museum of Russian Art in 2002 as a vehicle to institutionalize the presentation of their collection of Russian and Soviet art.  This exhibition will present 75 works from the 1930s to the 1980s drawn from the Johnson Collection of over 14,000 paintings.  The Johnson Collection is recognized as the largest privately held collection of Russian realist art outside of the former Soviet Union.  The exhibition will feature portraits, landscapes, figurative paintings and historical scenes by prominent Russian and Soviet artists.
